I think I would spiral into a full blown depression if I went a day without laughter.  Perhaps that’s why I have been a middle school teacher for so long.  Kids make me laugh.  And if they fail to do this on a daily basis, I can count on my husband to do the job.

There may be therapeutic benefits of laugher that range from decreasing stress hormones to improving the immune system.  Even if laughter does nothing but provide a temporary relief from an all too serious existence, it’s worth it.  It just feels good to chuckle from time to time.
