For those of us who are baby boomers, we were not inundated with activities during the summer. Our biggest concern for a long, warm summer day was what time do we have to be home for dinner? Life was not so scheduled and because of that, creativity just happened, it flowed. We made forts, played kick the can, wrote poetry, put on neighborhood plays, rode horses, watch contrails in the sky. Day Dreamed!
Write down a memory in the greatest detail possible. Where were you? How old were you? What were you doing? Who was with you? Get into the detail of it.
Then…. How did it shape you? What was it about your childhood that gave you an opportunity to become who you are?
Will it reignite a long ago hidden passion?
